New counselling Consultant for CMCS

After a recruitment process over the summer and a day of interviews in September, a new counselling Consultant has been appointed to start on 1 December 2019.  Initially they will be shadowing the role, with a view to taking on the full duties of the role in the spring of 2020.  Thank you to everyone who took part in this process.

Increase in maximum fee payable to counsellors 

The Steering Group of CMCS has approved an increase in the maximum session fee payable to counsellors, which is £45 currently.  The total of any contribution from the client plus the subsidy paid by the relevant denomination or diocese will be £47 (or whatever lower fee the counsellor prefers to charge) for sessions taking place after 1 January 2020.

Change of Service Coordinator

With Ian Millgate's retirement on 20 July 2018, the role of Service Co-ordinator has been passed to another member of the Baptist Union Ministries Team staff, Hilary Mason. She can be contacted via the Service Co-ordinator email address.

After an afternoon of interviews on Zoom towards the end of October 2020, an appointment has been made and the successful applicant will be receiving training with a view to taking on their new role early in 2021.  Our thanks go to everyone who participated in this process.

New Area Co-ordinator 

CMCS has been looking for an additional person to join the existing team of four Area Co-ordinators.  

This non-counselling but client-facing self-employed role is a significant aspect of how CMCS works, being the first point of contact for those seeking counselling.
